Compassion to his children

A basket of cards filled with scripture and words of hope.
My roommate was hearing some strange noises in the middle of the night and after waking up a little bit we went to make sure all our doors were locked and the gate closed. We figured out it was just our neighbors so everything was fine, but new noises in this new house can make it difficult to sleep. When it was time to get going for the day I was a bit, because my sleep has been restless for the past few nights. However, all of my small inconveniences were turned upside down when I was walking up to school. I found out one of my co-worker's baby passed away and for a moment it felt like the world pause as I grieved for her loss. This teacher has had a very difficult year and when I heard she lost her six month old boy it broke my heart. The team volunteering at Casa de Fe, the maestros, and profesoras made a big circle and prayed her this morning before doing anything else. While we were praying one of the maestros mentioned Psalm 103:11-16, "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more." God is good at all times and holds His children in the palm of His hands at all times. Our lives here on earth are gone in the blink of an eye, but the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting and will forever be with us. In moments of despair He has not forgotten us, but given us an opportunity to rely on Him. I thank God for His greatness and perfect love. School was cancelled due to the death of her baby, but the kids 4th grade and up came up to the school to make cards. We spent about an hour making elaborate cards with Bible verses and words of encouragement and the kids did such a great job. After a while we loaded up the vehicles to go and visit her with the older kids and after a pit stop at the flower shop and Rick and Rebekah's we arrived at her house. Each of us hand delivered the cards we made, it was really powerful and emotional. Seeing her hurting so much was really tough, but I was filled with comfort knowing God is present and that she had people to love her and be around her. Seeing how us as a teaching staff came together to lift her up really was a beautiful thing. The kids left around lunch time and at that time the missionary teachers went to Chifa China for lunch and brought a bunch back to those at the house. We sat with her more until the service and burial procession to Puyo. It was truly touching to see a ton of Casa de Fe staff there to support her, it is a beautiful little family we have here. After a long and emotional day I went home to clean up, then Jocelyn and I walked over to the Martin's to meet up with them. We all went out to supper at the fried Chicken place across the street from Italy's. It was super greasy and really good! On the walk home we picked up ice cream from Alexander's and I had the mora y coco (coconut not chocolate)! Then we went back over to their house and watched So you Think You Can Dance with Tandy. After a good evening with great friends we walked home and enjoyed a dog choral on the way. I couldn't help but think of 101 Dalmatians as the dogs seemed to have a barking chain to communicate.
